When connecting the charging cable, I get the notification 'just charge/mtp file transfer/developer mode'. And then immediately 'USB-cable' disconnected. Hitting 'charge only' doesn't change, both pop-ups keep on reappearing. So my battery drained completely. Connecting the phone to the charger causes it to reboot. So after a while I tried pushing the 'volume up' before connecting. The blue led lits up. And after half an hour checking with a normal reboot, my battery has gotten some charge. So the battery is not dead and is connected.

So now it seems I can only charge the phone in fastboot mode. Anybody seen this behaviour? Anybody knows how I could get normal charging behaviour back?

Thx for a reply ...

Using XC for months on two different versions, and never happened to me. My guess is try oem cable. Sony phones like oem stuff. If you already have oem cable, not sure. I would think that the charging port is going, but if it works in recovery, I guess not...

Have not encountered this with my XC. Will report back if I see anything weird while charging

Also haven't seen this. If you enforce charge mode only under USB settings, does it help with charging?

I'd also try switching cables as others suggested.

Hello, I have 2 different Sony cables (one original from the box, on bought on eBay.) Two different Sony chargers. That doesn't help.

Setting the usb-mode to 'charge only' stops one pop-up, but the one saying 'USB-cable removed' keeps on popping up 2 or 3 times, when that stops, still no charging activity. When removing the cable,,, I got the same popup stating again 'USB-cable removed' ...

Doesn't apply on my Xc. Charging like it should be with original cable, Huawei cable and ASMO charger w/ USB C adapter.
