JollaC - un-changelog 2.2.1.18 [duplicate]
Since previous OS version are some significant errors for Jolla-C still unfixed which are essential for use.
My intention for this post is to collect and track these unfixed errors (regardless it's a limited develeoper edition wih support apparently stopped). - Feel free to add, comment, patch and report fixed.
It would be also interesting to see how many devices are still in use and for what purpose. (I have one in daily use for basic communications like phone calls, text messages and email vial WLAN and mobile network. Battery still lasts up to three days.)
1. Bluetooth
1.1. dualSIM audio car connection
Bluetooth connects always audio from first activated SIMcard to car transceiver. A phone call to the second activated SIMcard ends up without audio unless audio is switched back to phone.
Connected with this preselection of SIMcard for outgoing calls is also not recognised. If a call is initiated via car transceiver, the first activated SIMcard is selected (regardless presettings) with same behaviour for audio as stated before.
Only deactivation of the first activated SIMcard initiates a change of bluetooth connection to the remaining SIMcard active. Reactivation and preselection of the deactivated SIMcard for phone calls is again not recognised by bluetooth audio.
2. WLAN
2.1. hiccups
WLAN connection terminates and reestablishes for whatever reason about every 5 to 10 seconds. I can see it with my jabber account beeping for each change of status.
With last OS version it was impossible to connect to a hidden network because connection was terminated before password completion.
2.2. network removal
A removed (hidden) network is no longer shown in settings list but seems still availiable for internet connection. It's gone after reboot.
3. Ambiences
3.1. Settings
Last update mixed up my ringtones again. Some were replaced by Jolla standard ringones, some remained.
3.2. Background picture
If I remember correct, in a previous version it was possible to scale and cut a photo for ambience background.
3.3. Situations
... to be checked again
Especially the bluetooth issue is annoying for me, I am often having trouble too with changing between SIMs and using BT handsfree.

The most serious fault in 2.2.1.18 for me is the Android/textarea/backspace problem:

These bug reports are not necessarily related to Jolla C (for example, the ambience ringtones issue has been a problem since the very beginning), and collecting several problems in one topic goes against the spirit of this website, which is to give every problem its own topic. I am closing this, but you can vote and even bump the already existing topics for the problems you mentioned, or create new topics for other problems you encounter.
nthn ( 2018-10-27 12:08:57 +0200 )edit@nthn I had expected more information and maybe a controverse discussion but not to get my post simply closed with reference to already reported bugs. Is it a sign, how Jolla respects customer needs, ideas and intentions? For every possible bug I have to search the forum and read a lot of text which seldom results in a handy workaround or information if a bug is really fixed. My intention was also to get an overview with a summary of information about every issue to the users, sticked with relevant links and information to solutions provided by the community and - if liked - to provide priorities for the developers. (I remember a early speech to focus on essential functionality first instead on gimmics. Yes, I love the handy UI of Sailfish OS and I still try to avoid a never-come-back-move to Android or iOS with all its consequences. I guess there are a lot of users out there which use their Sailfish phones much longer than a usual Android/iOS phone and they want software issues get fixed. Back to my post: maybe it's not nessesary to have general bugs connected to the phone model. So I suggest to divide the list in two sections or mark items general and Jolla-C related and additionally to mark it a Wiki. (Users of Jolla-C devices don't want to read stuff about Xperia issues).
fortify ( 2018-10-28 16:14:52 +0200 )edit@ DaveRo:
Activate a SIMcard means enable/disable it via 'Settings | SIM cards' but also the activation sequence on bootup is relevant. The usual drill to have a certain SIMcard connected via BT is to disable and enable the other one and then enable BT (again). Preselection of a SIMcard for outgoing calls or messages in 'Settings | SIM cards - section Use SIM card' or at the Events Shortcut Panel is also not recognized by BT connection like an incoming call to the other SIMcard.
