Unable to cancel VPN connection

I was checking if the OpenConnect implementation of the VPN was updated with the release of Sailfish-3. Unfortunately it is not, it still asks for cookie data and server hash. But when I try to cancel the connection it popups the question for that information again once more. If I cancel again it just stays "connecting" and the dot is blinking. There's no way to deselect/cancel the effort to establish connection, not even selecting "forget" in the context menu of the VPN entry.
