(3.0.0.5) USB tethering not working anymore
Hi guys.
Since last update the usb tethering isn't working anymore, I know that this trick isn't officialy supported ( sadly .. ), but is there any way to get it working again ?
thanks. Nice day.
We have moved to a new Sailfish OS Forum. Please start new discussions there.

Hi guys. I can't get it working on JP1 3.2.1.20 Tried to use the connman version with no success. About ip tables, i don't know anything, and i'm using w7.
Anyone having an idea ? :)
Really sad to see "Tracked by Jolla (Rejected)" Never understood the roadmap of sailfish .. it's like a gangbang !
Hi guys, same thing as many user here, with Sailfish 3.2.1.20 no tethering at all.
If I use sharing internet over wifi, or over usb, I've got the same result : a "limited" connection without internet. It seems the phone does not deliver an ip to my computer (dhcp broken ?)
I've double-checked all the config files and various tricks from this thread but as far as today nothing works.
Tethering worked fined in previous version btw I remember using it without any problems few years ago.
edit : to explain more, I try to share my 4G connection, not my wifi connection. Sharing the phone's wifi over usb works but the goal here is to have fast 4G.
Ironically still works with 3.2.1.20 upon my Xperia X Compact using g7 patch and the usual config changes albeit upon Mac OSX 10.15.4 upon which Joshua Wise's HoRNDIS installed, although now referred to as Ethernet Adaptor (en15) whereas device name previously shown.link text Upon a newly flashed Xperia Compact X running 3.3.0.14 it is only necessary to follow Jolla resource to enable USB tether:link text
aspergerguy ( 2020-04-13 19:48:14 +0200 )editWorks fine with 3.3.
With 3.2, i add to go to some extra steps, as described per :
(this article was really helpful, the only one that went into a working solution).
JulienBlanc ( 2020-04-14 08:48:59 +0200 )editI think I solved my problem.
In Settings/Mobile network/Access point (not sure of translation, my OS is in french), you can choose between IP, IPv6 or Mixed. I was in Mixed mode, and I changed it to IP and my network sharing started working again (and some android app which only worked with wifi can now work with data too !)

spiiroin ( 2018-11-02 11:05:30 +0200 )editHi. I have a jp1 .
malibu1106 ( 2018-11-03 14:24:27 +0200 )editSame problem with Jolla Phone 1. The connection is not tethered with my Linux laptop or desktop since the update to 3.0.0.5. It was with previous Sailfish version.
This option, even if not officially supported, was highly appreciated! I hope that Jolla will fix it.
tg ( 2018-11-05 17:58:57 +0200 )editI do have the same problem since 3.0.0.5 with Sony Xperia X and as host computer a Linux system. Does anybody have an idea on how to debug this?
thargor ( 2018-11-06 15:43:52 +0200 )editI have this same problem on Jolla C, used to work before.
