I want to reflash android after I installed Sailfish X. Unfortunately I missed the step to backup the TA partition.

What options to I have to reinstall android on my phone? is it possible to reinstall the stock android 8. The guides that I found mention to use the TA backup but what are my options when I do not have them?

You can reinstall stock Android with Sony's Emma tool, though those keys won't be restored.

@bompy you can find a description for a linux based reflash here: https://sourcey.com/articles/flash-android-sony-xperia-on-linux. It works, I just did it as described.
