Horray for Sailfish3X, we have new Jolla devices. A was in a store, had a look at Sony's XA2, Ultra and Plus. First too old, second to big for my pocket, so let's buy the newest one: XA2 plus. Problem: on the Sony website is a specification with

RAM: 4 / 6 GB.

ok. fine, I'll take the 6GB with 64 instead of 32GB flash. But here in Germany I only find the 4GB devices. One guy here at TJC wrote the H4493 "international" is the 6GB, so.my questions:

  • IDK the number of the 4GB device. Is it the same?
    • Where are the differences between the two? only the memory?
    • What about the frequency stuff like LTE? European Standard?
    • and, if everything is ok and the same, where can I buy it?

(writen on a dying J1)

don't know what's the number fpr the 4GB version?

TL;DR: Choose between full LTE support or 6GB RAM...

There's a thread on TMO about buying the XA2 Plus, with a few posts linking various outlets/prices: https://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?p=1550580

FWIW the 4GB Dual Sim has model# H4413

And I bought mine ate Media Markt for 369€

Hope that helps... BTW the device is great. Perfect size, big screen and can handle 2 Sim cards plus a micro SD card

Edit: @vision The 4493 does NOT support the band 20. Important for Germany's countryside

Welcome ;)

Actually Saturn in Germany currently has a discount offer for 299€. See link text

I bought mine last week and flashed the new image today. I'm rather satisfied with this device up to now. The screen is great, however I need to get used to the curved border of the display

I am planning to buy the international XA2 Plus version H4493 instead of the German version H4413 and I assume that H4493 can handle 2 Sim cards plus a micro SD card as well, correct?

I am asking because of 64GB internal storage for H4493 which might indicate that Sony has removed the second slot…. Don't think that this is the case, just asking in order to be sure before buying.

Thanks for Reply ;)

I'm pretty sure it can. But it can have problems with the German LTE bands. Better you check that before you buy it.

  • UMTS HSPA+ (3G)
    • H3413/H4413/H4493 Bands: 1,2,5,8
  • LTE (4G)
    • H3413/H4413 Bands: 1,2,3,5,7,8,20,38

So, in France... we have to buy a H4493 variant in order to use the new band 28 (700MHz) but the phone will be incompatible with other europeans countries (and even some french operators) using band 20.

PhixGre ( 2018-11-15 17:58:23 +0300 )edit

@NGC-Ollie And for Germany, the variant H4493 seems to not be the good one...

PhixGre ( 2018-11-15 18:01:57 +0300 )edit

Correct. At the beginning of the Jolla C there was a bug which didn't allow access to the band 20. So I had no LTE except in cities

Just a reminder: If you plan to get the H4413: Saturn currently sells it for 299€ (online and in the stores) so hurry up before the price rises again.

jollajo ( 2018-11-15 18:40:32 +0300 )edit

H4493: even if LTE Band 20 is not available, it can use 3G bands for fallback, right?
