When the device is locked you cannot go directly to settings from the menu. This is bad because of steps you need to make.

Edit: Just to clarify - I think it should be possible quickly start opening settings but open them after entering the lock code NOT to open settings without entering code.

To go to settings you currently usually do:

  1. Swipe up (notice that the deivce is locked).
  2. Release.
  3. Swipe down (to an unlocking input form).
  4. Enter code.
  5. Swipe down twice (or back up) to settings.
  6. Select settings.

This could be greatly reduced:

  1. Swipe up.
  2. Enter code (the unlocking input form would be automatically opened).
  3. Open settings (automatic after submitting).

Same problem happens when trying to access notification view from lock screen when lock code is enabled. I think there should at least be some kind of feedback that device is locked. Currently it's quite hard to figure out why notification view doesn't open.

I had the same question and I'd suggest the following behaviour from Lock-Screen (with device locked):

  1. Access Menu-Item from Pulley-Menu (Settings/Phone/Camera) by pulling down Pulley-Menu
  2. Enter Lock Code
  3. Get choosen application started directly if correct code was entered.

For the Camera app, I'd prefer that you could launch the Camera without giving your passcode and use it to take photos, but you couldn't see or edit previously taken photos or otherwise use the phone before entering the code.

This is how it works in iOS. It's good for quick photography.

Of course there is the downside that anyone who gets hold of your phone can fill your gallery with obscene photos. :) But not anything worse than that.

Proposing this kind of solution:

  1. Swipe up. If the device is locked, the unlocking input form would be automatically opened. If not, the notifications screen would open as in #3.
  2. (if locked) Enter unlocking GESTURE instead of a code
  3. (after code gesture) Swipe up to open notification screen, and quick menu for customized setting switches (6) would be on top there

Pros / cons in this solution

  • I usually open first the notifications. Most important (your selected 6) settings would be as quick to reach
  • You could always see your switches with the notifications
  • Accessing other settings would stay as difficult as it is now (for me, 6 customized quick switches would be enough)
  • The quick switch bar would take some space from notifications (In my opinion, there's plenty)

Implemented in 1.1.0.38! To see it in action: lock device, select an item from the pulley menu, enter lock code, and the application opens!

Did you make sure to send the mail from the same account that you used for your Jolla account?

Edit: nevermind, I noticed you've already solved that.

Yeah. Thanks anyway. Tried the new behaviour already and like it. It's just as I'd expect it in the first place. Thx Jolla!
