Jolla 1 blank screen after Sailfish 3 update and reset

I managed to upgrade to Sailfish 3 without a hitch on my Jolla 1, but it was running very slowly indeed so I decided to do a factory reset. Now it boots and I get the Jolla logo on the splash screen and it says 'Goodbye' when I shut down but that is all the screen displays, the rest of the time it is blank.
Any suggestions anyone please?

The update broke also my Jolla 1. It keeps restarting randomly and Is therefore pretty much useless. Haven't found a solution unfortunately.
