Gmail accounts not showing all email folders without reboot

Adding gmail accounts after a fresh install of Sailfish X to Xperia XA2 (first boot to Sailfish after flashing) resulted in the email app only showing some of the folders, similar to this bug.
Removing and readding the accounts did not help (tested using multiple gmail accounts), but after reboot all the existing accounts behaved as they should, and newly added accounts also worked perfectly. I get the feeling there may be some configuration error in the flashable image which gets corrected only after a reboot.
