Rostelecom rebrands Sailfish OS as Aurora Thursday 7 February 2019 | 20:22 CET | News Russian national operator Rostelecom announced that its subsidiaries Open Mobile Platform (OMP) and Votron, operating the Sailfish OS, have re-branded the operating system used in Russia as Aurora.
Aurora supports all standard functions of a mobile OS: management of calls, contacts and messages, mailing agent, browser, access to media, calendar, camera, gallery, watch and timers, work with documents and others. It also supports functions of remote access to the workplace, including secure access to corporate email, messengers and IT systems.
The Russian government has plans to switch all Russian state officials to the Sailfish OS, under a project expected to cost RUB 160.2 billion. The government plans to switch around 8 million state officials to the operating system of Russian origin by the end of 2021. Sailfish-powered smartphones will also be recommended to municipal administrations of various levels.
The government plans to allocate RUB 71.3 billion from the federal budget for this purpose, with RUB 78.2 billion to be allocated from regional budgets and RUB 10.7 billion from local budgets

I had a boat called Aurora. Not a good choice - it was too common.
