Pc Connection problem: I'm trying to connect with PC, PC doesn't recognize properly phone. Phone in MTP mode, In Windows Explorer I can see D-drive, but it cannot be opened. -tested with two Windows7 machines -One Windows10 machine -multiple different USB cords -SSH connection via Putty works fine! -removed pin code locking or enabled it

Android alien dalvik cannot access photos taken by camera: -android programs only access folders that are within android system. Whatsapp, messenger etc can take photos and those are seen in android programs. but no photos in Sailfish camera folder etc. This worked fine before SFOS3, had 5month break of using Xperia X because display was broken.

Anyone else facing same issues?

I can confirm the second part. It is not possible to get access to SF pictures and mail attachments for android apps. If I get a excel-spreadsheet by mail it is not possible to open it in excel. Trying copy+paste to android storage with file manager fails...

PC-connection (W10/64bit) works, but no access to android storage either.

I'm so happy to have excel onboard after years of workarounds and now I can't use it without workaround (remove SD-card, save file from PC on card with adapter, mount card on phone again)

Has anybody ideas?

Don't know if it helps, but I can access pictures taken with the native camera apps with android messengers (Threema, Telegram). Seems not to be a general issue. Where do you store your camera pictures? Mine are on SD (Xperia X, 3.0.1.14).

Spark: in SD card.

Worked with my Win10 and PC recognized fine. Now few days later, with Win7 work computer it doesn't work anymore! Have to check home with Win10 later. Is this software or hardware problem?

This is fixed by using SDCard for photos and video.

With XA2 Seitseminen same problems. But solution, when connecting phone to pc, settings-usb-mtp set and settings-usb has to be shown on screen to enable MTP mode. It loads for a while and then works in Windows PC.

I believe(i have not debug it yet) that issue with MTP mode recognition in Windows is software problem and related to not properly implemented of MTP Device Extensions for Metadata Transfer.

MTP flag is not set so Windows doesn't install drivers for MTP mode. I have found a way to force Windows to do that. In MTP driver install file

C:/Windows/Inf/wpdmtp.inf

in section

 [Generic.NTx86]
add
     ; Xperia
    %GenericMTP.DeviceDesc%=MTP, USB\VID_05C6&PID_0AFE&REV_0310
    %GenericMTP.DeviceDesc%=MTP, USB\VID_05C6&PID_0AFE
    %GenericMTP.DeviceDesc%=MTP, USB\Class_08&SubClass_06&Prot_50
    %GenericMTP.DeviceDesc%=MTP, USB\Class_08&SubClass_06
    %GenericMTP.DeviceDesc%=MTP, USB\Class_08**strong text**

and in section

 [Generic.NTamd64]
add the same
     ; Xperia
    %GenericMTP.DeviceDesc%=MTP, USB\VID_05C6&PID_0AFE&REV_0310
    %GenericMTP.DeviceDesc%=MTP, USB\VID_05C6&PID_0AFE
    %GenericMTP.DeviceDesc%=MTP, USB\Class_08&SubClass_06&Prot_50
    %GenericMTP.DeviceDesc%=MTP, USB\Class_08&SubClass_06
    %GenericMTP.DeviceDesc%=MTP, USB\Class_08

These strings are valid for Xperia X model. For another device go to Device Manager find Unknown device>right click>Properties>Details tab > Hardware IDs then copy strings

USB***
to inf file in format as example above.

After saving inf file remove all Unknown devices from Device Manager and reconect phone.
