Did anybody get the android app Signal Messenger to work?

I read multiple reports about "messages are not being send" and also am experiencing this particular issue.

What is jolla's hint on this:

02-25 00:15:43.813   271   271 I com.android.phone: Looking for service android.hardware.radio@1.0::IRadio/slot1_alien
02-25 00:15:43.816   271   271 I com.android.phone: Looking for service android.hardware.radio.deprecated@1.0::IOemHook/slot1_alien

Are these messages from the log related and how can they be fixed?

Is there some kind of hack available to get Signal working?

I would use "wisperfish", but there is no way to import my old messages.

Sorry for hijacking this, but are signal notifications working for you? I receive messages (I see them in the notifications pane), but I never get any notifications (tone or vibrations).

Why do you not use the native client?

https://github.com/aebruno/whisperfish/releases

...works fine for me (XA2/3.0.1.14)

edit: sry, didn´t read, that you already tried.

Sorry to ask here, but how do I see in whisperfish, which of my adress book contacts have Signal? Am I supposed to know or does Signal not offer that in general?

maybe this answers your question:

Unfortunately not. When selecting "new message" and click "Recipient: Select", I see my full adress book. No indication who is a Signal user and who isn't.

Take a look at this Wiki post here https://together.jolla.com/question/198517/wiki-state-of-sailfish-x-sensors-apps-and-androidtm-support-on-sony-xa2-variants/

It's stated like this. So it seems that you can receive messages but not to send them. I think that this issue is due to the Android side not using correctly the network connections etc. Like some apps work only on Wifi and the other work just perfect.

There seems not to be a quick solution to the problem but let's hope Jolla is able to fix it soon. I hope this answered your question at least in some way

Already saw that post.

I wonder why it works on "XA2 Plus Dual Sim"... Is the android image another one? Can it be "backported" to the regular "XA2" ?

Can't really say, perhaps there's some kind of bug or who knows. It could also be some kind of hardware question on dalvik side
