Is is possible to change a heart-like 'People' icon to something more neutral? It confuses me whenever I have to call my boss;).

regarding 1) I totally agree with you and hope the icon will be changed... this is too personal for a large amount of people in there ;-)
If you want to help yourself, and are fine with using developer mode and doing things that you should only do when you know what you are doing: you can replace the icon at /usr/share/themes/jolla-ambient/meegotouch/icons/icon-launcher-people.png
I have replaced mine with a custom icon which I have just put together quickly. Not really stylish, but neutral.
Feel free to use it if you need one :)

I like this, but if this gonna change it should be red. Because people already started to use to it, and people follow shapes and colors easily. Just my 2cents.

It should contain - hopefully - people you like, at least the majority.
btw.
A icon that should be changed is gallery. I doesn't give any indication about what app it is and is therefore really a bad icon. I suggest two or three photos with a border (like a polaroid), this should look nice and everyone can understand the meaning:
I totally disagree. To me the Gallery icon is single-handedly the most recognisable and "iconic" icon of SailfishOS. The stylish (and the SF icons are about style) butterfly/flower/whatever-suits-you works great and the designer nailed it in this one. And hey, even Apple has lately moved away from the polaroid metaphor of iPhoto to the Photos flower icon for more abstractness, so a thousand times no to a dull (in comparison) set of polaroids. The proposed polaroids icon doesn't even conform to the icon story of SFOS unless you just wanted to slap it on some random SF icon shape. So please no.

I agree. I find this heart-throwing both here and there silly, like a 14-year-old girl wearing pink dress and dotting her i with a heart. I never even do that with my own dearest, let alone the majority people in my contact list who are either just colleagues or acquaintances. That's just weird to think of them that way.

That is a very unlike way of doing things, imho, and quite fitting for a system as open-source as sailfish. I am even willing to change the heart icon on my phone if someone posts something better here.
