Airplane mode enabled, still ask "select internet connection".

If connections are allowed in airplane mode, what's the point of it? Isn't it supposed to shut off all radios?

The main point of airplane mode is to shut off cellular radio. Some airlines allow wifi on selected flights, so we decided to allow wifi to be enabled even while in airplane mode.

@jsiren - also: airplane mode is a neat way of getting rid of the "there's no SIM" nag, for a phone that you still sometimes use with wifi
(e.g. my Nokia N9, while I'm converting to Jolla (where my SIM is))

PLEASE add the setting. The native Maps app also does this. It is so annoying to the point of being unusable.

No, sorry. While having that option in general might arguably be a good idea, there's no way airplane mode is a special case of that. When selecting airplane mode, the expectation is that no attempts to connect to anything wireless will be made, so the feature is broken if the popup appears.

even though it's puzzling at first, since some airliners do allow wifi on board, it does make sense once you think about it. there should be a way to customize airplane mode though. at least wether or not wifi should be asked about.

though i'd rather the popup would be either removed completely or made slimer and unintrusive, i.e. not catching a click on the whole screen, and beeing only as big as the "connected" bar at the top of the screen. you could make that clickable which would open the big popup... or make it a pulley or something like that..

Hmm...Agree, it should not be intrusive must-act pop-up rather an optional notification that user can act if s/he wants ....(More like a remorse timer that says "Tap to connect to a network")... Makes sense? Still more votes on the other post would actually help garner attention :-)
