Add an option to have timer countdowns be visible on lock-screen.

Most of the time the contrast is so bad that you cannot read it from the cover on home-screen and need to tap the cover to get a clue...

Often used as kitchen-timer this could be a useful enhancement.

For now I am only asking for "displaying" what do you think?

Ideas on how to display:

  • not interfering with the design, displayed as timer notification item like IM/SMS etc.
  • above the alarm-icon being able to peek, available on lock-screen and not in-your-face (my fav)
  • Centered circular timer on lock-screen, easy to read

I don't understand exactly what you mean? Do you want to replace the default "clock" in the homescreen with a countdown timer?

I also wish that I could see the clock without having to wake the screen "N9" style

why are you giving a comment as answer? I rephrase the question... and for your N9 style... this is no oled display and will eat your battery this way! order the oled TOH when available http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=92239

"why are you giving a comment as answer?" @chemist: probably because he/she is a new user, and not used with Together. The answer box is what "pops up" when you want to comment on something, to actually make a comment there's the "hidden" link you have to click to get the comment box. Give new users some slack. :)

Regarding the question, this is very closely related with configuring the lock screen in large. I would call it a duplicate even. But I do agree that it's a good idea.

Great idea, but the countdown should maybe not be very big. It might interfere with the clean UI

@Mohjive features yet to come - I'd rather not have apps by default accessing the lock-screen

@Henque19 a temporary display of a timer does not really, does it? It could be displayed like a notification item to stay in terms of the HYC - will add it to the suggestion
