My device is Xperia XA2 with 3.0.3.10 but it started a few updates ago and not gotten better maybe worse.

In past I had memory about browser gui were always responsive despite the browser itself was very slow and often had issues showing different web pages especially with java scripts. I could always open a new page, scroll up and down, go back, close existing page and so on. Do I remember wrong?

Recent updates scrolling often lag on complex web pages (assume java scripts) seen that for a few updates. Recent update the gui become slower and slower also response when clicking a link you do not know if page froze. Latest update it also affected the gui not related to web pages, like tabs, back button, cancel button and so on so I could not even close the page. Scrolling often freezes for seconds on advanced pages.

This is not something new but very annoying, when edit text fields in the web pages (duckduckgo search field or forum messages) it is impossible to move the cursor by clicking around in the text making it impossible to edit already typed text. It is often faster delete everything with back button and type it again.

i cant confirm this at all on XA2 plus. also on jolla1 the gui is smooth (of course heavy websites are slower due to old cpu).

sounds to me you should further investigate, theres def sth wrong.

(assume java scripts)

Until the Mozilla's Gecko engine which powers the native browser has been updated (Jolla devs say they are in the process of ), enough to support ad-blocker and other similar Javascript limiters, I would suggest some hosts-level blocker such as Defender as an alternative way to try herding the mess of Javascript in the modern world.

it is impossible to move the cursor by clicking around in the text making it impossible to edit already typed text.

I've noticed this bug seems to be scrolling related (some errors trying to map the screen context of the click to the context of the text field). If the text area is multiline, clicking around does move the cursor... but to the wrong line.

Scrolling the page seem to sometime reset the problem back to normal (click around moves the cursor exactly under the finger).
