Sailfish Weather - app gets data and works mostly
EDIT - Since updating to the latest SFOS last night (for which I got a black/blank screen and had to reset my JP1301) I now have NO weather icon for my area. As a result, the forced weather icon on the lockscreen is also not present, which causes the temperature text to get shoved up underneath the date, which of course looks cr*p.
Also, in the main weather app page, I now have a large blank space where there used to be "Sunny" icon. As we discovered last time, the problem is with the weather station in Valencia. Before this new SFOS update (3.3.0) I occasionally got the right weather icon, but more often than not, it just showed "sunny" all the time and now, nothing, no icon at all - but I do quite like the new icons and the little splash of colour they provide. Perhaps I will nudge Foreca again as I have absolutely NO IDEA how to get in touch with the Weather Station in Valencia.

I contacted Foreca for some information regarding weather description and locations, but Foreca staff could not help. I was informed that Foreca no longer provides support to Jolla for their weather application.
Will I ever see a different weather icon for my current location?, it is always 'cloud-day-0' - this means, according to the application, that the sun shines day and night here and never, ever rains, despite a historical storm here in recent months. Also the weather description is almost never available, yet locations just a few miles in any direction are all complete and quite accurate.
Jolla, will you be renewing your subscription with Foreca?, can you fix the lack of description and correct weather icon?

I am pretty sure my Weather app is updating. At least the five day forecast.

misc11 ( 2019-06-04 11:09:25 +0200 )editYes guys, I'm not saying the app does not work or does not update, but the API is out of date and for me, this means an inaccurate or non-existent forecast for my area. I've left a lot of detail out of my main question, people don;t want to read long paragraphs of waffle, but to say the least, the app like much of the OS is, well, rather neglected.
Spam Hunter ( 2019-06-04 11:13:38 +0200 )editSo, Jolla is paying Foreca to use their API, but they are not maintaining the Weather App? Well... Probably should move to another weather provider, for example FMI:

raketti ( 2019-06-04 12:21:20 +0200 )edit@raketti, they didn't clarify and I won't pry, but I get the impression, rightly or wrongly, that it is a yearly subscription or similar and Jolla cannot afford/doesn't want to afford the cost - not a priority, which is understandable to a degree.
