Status of dual SIM support in XA2 phones
I've been tempted to get myself an Xperia XA2 to replace my ageing Jolla 1 (yes, still in use!), particularly because of its dual SIM functionality. But I'm confused about whether this actually works or not - release notes indicate yes, but numerous posts here on TJC suggest it doesn't... Can someone clarify; if I put a subscription 4G SIM from country A in one slot, and a PAYG SIM from country B in the other will I:
- be able to use "always on" 4G Internet from SIM A, while making/receiving calls on SIM B?
- have the option to choose which SIM card to use when making a call/sending an SMS?
- be able to receive calls on SIM A and SIM B simultaneously (well, not during a call of course)
Thanks!
Also note that the two SIMs cannot both use 4G or 3G at the same time. One will always be on 2G. This may be problematic if the 2G network in your location is poor or completely non-existent.
