Device: Sony Xperia XA 2 (H4113) SFOS 3.1.0.11

I had installed Hossa (3.0.2.11) and made the online update to Seitseminen (3.1.0.11) successfully. But after every reset of the device Hossa ist installed and the device shows me, that an update is available.

I reproduced this three times.

Is 3.0.2.11 what you installed initially? I thought reset was always to the original firmware... so in that case this sounds like intended behaviour.

It is defently intended. The reset always downgrades to the first stable release for the particular device. If it's still the case the Jolla 1 will downgrade to 1.x in case of a reset, might be 2.x by now. (I hadn't done a reset on the J1 for ages)

OK, i did not recognized this behaviour in the past. It is no good behaviour and other systems keeps the last installed Version of the system after a devices reset.

Reset is not Reboot, please specify!

@Slartibartfass I almost wanted to ask why you pull an EISNOGUD after five years but just in time I found out that you jumped onto our boat just about half a year ago ... so: welcome :-)

This sort of reset/recovery feature is sometimes tedious but on the other hand, it saved some devices' life.

Device reset clears all user data from the device and reverts the operating system to the version that was previously flashed (Installed) to it. This is the intended implementation.
There could be a lighter reset, "clear all user data", but this has never been implemented.
