Airplane mode doesn't deactivate NFC/ToH [answered]

Don't know what regulations say about NFC in airplanes, but my android telephone deactivates NFC when switching on airplane mode – I don't think without a reason.

I haven't found any information regarding NFC on airplanes, but: Short-range Bluetooth devices including keyboards and headphones have been allowed on flights for some time. Since October 13, airlines flying under FAA rules can even allow Short-range Bluetooth connections during all flight phases. A typical NFC connection has a range of about 20cm - Jolla's TOH-NFC chip even less than 1cm. So even if you switch TOH during your flight and activate NFC, it shouldn't be a problem and doesn't seem to fall under any regulations.

This might be because the NFC isn't supposed to be on while the other half is connected (AIUI, going by the "power consumption bug" with tohd), and typically you wouldn't switch other half on the plane.
