Hi there,

I just found out (since i dont use sms that often) that sms no longer work on my j1. I wanted to access my mobile banking which now sends an mtan for login in - and nothing happened. Tried the "solutions" the bank told (restart, take sim out for a while) - but nope. Doesnt work.

I checked if its a sim problem or a provider problem by switching the sim to a older android phone i have lying around - by sending myself a sms from a web-sms service. Worked on the android phone..

Trying the same web-sms service after switching the sim back to j1. Nothing. Doesnt arrive.

Which leads to my conclusion: sailfish is the problem. As i wrote a friend who uses x2 some sms and he told me he didnt get them i wouldnt even limit that to j1. But until now i thought it may be his provider. As it happened to me now to - it seems to be a sailfish caused problem.

Anyone else experiencing this? Anyone a solution/workaround? Since i starting next month need mtan for accessing online banking this is a bug that sucks big time.

SMS works here with Vodafone and J1.

Did you put the international country code before every number? Did the trick for me in a similar case.

thx for your answers My Provider uses O2 - but that shouldnt be the problem - as i tried the sim card in a android phone and the sms were received.

Didnt think about sending before (as i wanted to receive mtan to access my bank on my desktop pc. But as it seems: doesnt work either. The second i click send it says "Problem while sending the message". I

I checked the sms settings under settings->apps->messages and the number for the service is right.

So no clue why it doesnt work. As i dont want to switch my sim and need access to my bank account i time guess i am stuck on android until i can solve this. First time in nearly 5 years i have to dump my j1 ;(

I just found a thread with similar problem - although for an earlier Sailfish Version (but not really long apart). https://together.jolla.com/question/202278/sms-does-not-work-after-installing-3028/

I'll try the solutions mentioned there and check back

Edit: got it working The answer by stefanp did it for me. https://together.jolla.com/question/202278/sms-does-not-work-after-installing-3028/?answer=205366#post-id-205366
