It would be great to run ScummVM on SailfishOS and play games like Monkey Island, Day of the Tentacle and many more. Not the most important thing at the moment, but maybe there is someone out there who is able to support the ScummVM Community (see links below).

What I have tried so far:

  • Found OBS Project ScummVM
  • got scummvm-1.7.0-5.12.Nemo.Apps.armv7hl.rpm and installed it with pkcon install-local
  • was able to start ScummVM and play Day of the Tentacle on my Jolla

Problems:

  • No sound
  • Touchscreen is not calibrated correct
  • Not able to skip the Intro
  • when close ScummVM the process keeps on running (solved with ps -aux and kill -9 pid)

Topics at ScummVM Community:

Would be great to see ScummVM running on SailfishOS!

edit: This was done with SailfishOS 1.0.2.5, I have troube to start this ScummVM build on 1.0.3.8

edit2: ScummVM would also be great on the jolla tablet

It is strange how the ScummVM homepage has packages for a brazillion of different devices, even Symbian^3, but not for Jolla.

The sound problem can be fixed by using libaudioresource. Touchscreen woes I can probably also fix by just making sure the screen is well-aligned (it's using "touchpad mode" - i.e. you move your finger somewhere and it makes relative movements). About "Not able to skip the Intro", we'd have to look into how other platforms manage that (on-screen button would be an option to map keys that are not mapped by default). The closing issues I'll have to look into, too.

Can you file these as separate issues in Github? Here: https://github.com/nemomobile-apps/scummvm

I also plan to push my ScummVM Nemo port to Harbour once SDL2 is available as allowed third party API (stable upstream SDL2 2.0.1 is now available with the latest update 1.0.3.8). Thanks :)

About the "not able to skip the intro" issue: the N9 port used the WebOS gestures, which worked great (example: flick two fingers to the left to emulate the escape key, so --> skip the intro).

Hi Orologiaio,

Thanks fot that hint! This is working on SailfishOS as well. I was able to skip the Intro by using two fingers as you adviced.

@thp: I have created two new issues on your Github page. Thanks for your support. I would like to help testing new versions.

Are there any news about this?

@thp: any news? The old Point-and-Click adventures would be great on Jolla-Tablet :)
