Phone loses connection on dial, only works in 2G only mode
When I try to use the phone app, it loses the network connection. It will go to 3G and then lose connection entirely. A call will cut off while ringing or the person will answer and it will cut off shortly. Cannot get incoming calls really either. Time limit, cuts off. Not using the "Phone" portion, it will go back to 4G and SMS works just fine.
Maybe simply bad 3G coverage in this are?
Or a very old (worn) battery? As calling will cause power consumption spikes and battery voltage can fall below thresholds and modem will not work.
Which phone?

SValmont ( 2019-10-23 23:10:32 +0200 )editYou may try so with kimmoli's 'Charge Monitor', start logging and have a look at battery voltage and current
peterleinchen ( 2019-10-23 23:34:07 +0200 )editCurrently without calls its 28.7 C Voltage 3.78843 V Current: 466.916 mA and USB input voltage .13446
SValmont ( 2019-10-23 23:48:56 +0200 )editLooks like it drops down to 159 mA current and then back up again after the call fails. Does that tell you anything?
