Intex Aqua Fish with Sailfish OS 3

Hey Jolla community,

My Intex Aqua Fish started to act really slowly. I shut it down and and tried to reboot it but since then it is stuck at boot

I already managed to get it into the "insert USB cable and connect to 10.42.66.66" "boot menu". But neither Putty with Windows 7 or the Terminal with Linux is able to connect to it. I couldnt install the RNDIS drivers bc there was never a device present when I plugged the aqua fish into the USB

I also got the aqua fish image and the qualcomm loader but the qualcomm loader "sees" no port when I plug in the aqua fish.

I never made it to the "Fastboot" where you can select options with the volume buttons as shown here: https://www.hardreset.info/media/resetinfo/2016/179/ddbe165c40cd4d889d054e2839cbd804/intex-aqua-fish.jpg

Problem: Neither Windows nor Linux detect any USB device or networking device (for the aqua fish) when I plug it in. DMESG doesnt show the aquafish at all in Linux.

I hope you guys can help me, this is my only smartphone.

faulty usb connector?

coderus ( 2019-11-21 20:57:24 +0200 )edit

I always use this cable to charge it. The connector has some "wiggle" but still seems to work. I never was able to use the phone with Windows 7 in mass storage mode so I cant tell. I can try the same things with a different cable.

How can I "test" if the USB connector is faulty?

How do I get into the "fastboot menu" ?

fastboot and recovery modes in sailfish doesnt have any graphical menu.

fastboot mode is activated by holding volume down button while conencting usb cable attached to your pc. jolla logo will be showed and dmesg should show usb device. if not and you tested with all usb cable and all pc available around - your device is probably damaged.

@coderus I never got to the fastboot menu. The only "logo" I see is the Intex and Sailfish OS screen. I got a new USB cable. I will try it now

It seems stuck, what do I do?

Should I keep the phone turned on? For how long?

@NeoNautilus,I'm curious. How did you get into recovery at last? Just switched the USB-cable or?

Everyone, never buy "charging-only" USB cables.
