Help WhatsApp Incompatible With this Version of Android Support! [closed]

WhatsApp demanded I upgrade to the latest version. I.e. it wouldn't run anymore

I went to APKPure and downloaded versipon 2.19.360

On SailfishOS: 3.2.9.12

IT says "Incompatible With this Version of Android Support"

I can't really justify having a smartphone that won't even run WhatsApp, what can I do?

download an install directly from whatsapp page

Installing from the link provided works.

Installing the version from APK Pure didn't.

I think we might need to create some awareness of this, i.e. where to get Android apps for SailfishOS that work

Genius?, no, just acting on experience, but thanks for the compliment :)

The only reason I have the Alien Dalvik layer active is for Whatsapp. I've already been down the route you took and met with similar problems.

Always try to use the genuine APK, at least it if comes from the source, there's little chance of sh*t finding its way onto your device.
