how can i hide recent contacts in contacts app in 3.2.1.20?

No way to do so, afaik.
I would also love to have this possibilty (as standard feature on all phones (a decade agao).
edit: whereas I would more like to clean up these recent contacts instead of disabling this feature!
There was a patch by ancelad 'Hide recent contacts from People-app' but it is unmaintained...

@peterleinchen: I'm reopening the question. Closing a question as 'released' is only for updates of Sailfish that fix the issue. patches don't count ;)

@peterleinchen: that's actually a good question. there's this yellow banner that you get when not logged in. but I had to search a bit myself and there's only the 'guideline' tag with a few posts: guidelines. the 'rule' though is more implicit than explicit ;)
but don't take my comment too serious, there are topics where it's more important to keep comments and answers separated.
Then Jolla should please add this option asap in next release! (if they are aware)
that's why I reopened the question. Let's hope people vote and this question gets the famous 'Treacked by Jolla' subtitle. although then there would still be the backlog priority...
