I am not sure if it is a failure with the proximity sensor or with the UI itself but I had put a call to hold with the chin some times now. This never happened e.g. with a JollaC or Jolla1 but with the XA2 (and a friend had this problem with a XA2+).

This is unconvenient because there is no signal - the call is just muted. The phone needs to find out that it is at ear and chin now when calling...

I have this problem with an Xperia X, too.

At least Jolla could play a sound when calls are muted. :)

Never noticed it due to a headset use. Had similar thing with an old LG and learned to slam top of the phone "head first". Can a screen protector affect it?

happens to me quite often and it's annoying! (it's a smart phone so the calling features are maybe not so important? ...)

I had the same issue from time to time, and now i always press the power button once, once the call is connected, to switch off the display and not having this problem. More a workaround i know...

super Idea, especially if a second press of same button would trigger terminate the call (I miss a terminate hardware button badly)

I do this too. It works well for me.

The front camera should be used to notice it's an ear shaped object approaching.

The pulley menu is the problem, not the chin: On XA2 the screen is so large the pulley menu gets triggered by my ear. It would be nice to have the option of switching off that pulley, or fine tune it's sensitivity, or put it's function on the camera hardware button: One click: Put on hold, doubleclick to terminate a call. (better, at least for for me: One click to terminate, double click to put on hold)
