my Xperia 10 asks for the security code even after i have unlocked it with my fingerprint.

shouldn't the latter also be able to unlock the encryption?

I. E. Why should I tap the fingerprint twice in order to unlock my phone?

Comments

On my Xperia XA2 Plus the encyption unlock comes before device unlock / fingerprint. Encryption unlock is handeled by cryptsetup (or so) and the encryption code is showed as small * Where Device unlock / Fingerprint Unlock is another process and password is showed as dots...

First tap is opening up the lock screen. Second tap will read the fingerprint and unlocks the device.

I think it is done this way to prevent a driver bug with the fingerprint reader not being able to read the fingerprint when in standby.

So, there is a bug. And this is an expected workaround that bug? If so, fine as I believe this would be then tracked internally.

Short version: no, it is not a bug. Yes, it is a kind of workaround, but not for driver bugs or like.

The first tap is to wake up the phone from standby, instead of pushing the button. The second tap is instead of entering the phones pin code to get access to it. Thats how I understand this behavior of the phone
