Not possible update [answered]
Hi All!
I accidentally reset my Xperia (F5121) phone. Before this, the system was v3.1.011. after that became v3.0.0.8. (downgrade :( ) Since I can not to update it. The officially "updater" say : Up to date. I tried it with terminal : ( Description from here : https://jolla.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/201836347-How-do-I-download-and-install-a-Sailfish-OS-update-system-update- )
[root@Sailfish nemo] # ssu re Device release is currently 3.2.014 Finished transaction (Status=1, runtime=124989ms) UPGRADING SYSTEM Finished transaction (Status=1, runtime=1480ms) FINISHING NO UPDATES FOUND. Try again later. [root@Sailfish nemo]
A simple questions : Why say my phone, so "Up to date"? Why say the terminal "No updates found"? Why is the system update so complicated?
PS: I did it once by cli (it wasn't easy), but I couldn't find the description again. Best regards : NN9

Hi!
There's a lot of confusion here. I tried to use sfos-upgrade (script?). Result: " Notice! Upgrading from 3.0.0.8 to 3.2.012 would omit installing 3.2.012 as stop release. Warning: Doing so will likely break this SailfishOS installation, unfortunately often subtly so the issues caused might be observed way later! Do you really want to continue? (Y/N) " ????
Jolla say : "OS release 3.2.0.12 is a so-called Stop Release. There are several Stop Releases in the Sailfish OS update path. They are mandatory intermediate steps in the update path through which the update process must traverse if a device is updated starting from an early OS release. The previous Stop Release was 3.0.0.8."
Upgrading from last stop release to next stop release omit itself ??? Or, is this just a 'simple' security alert? I've been using Linux for over 10 years, and I know a warning like that has to be taken seriously.
I pressed "N".
But at least something positive happened. :D

peterleinchen ( 2020-05-02 14:58:53 +0200 )edityes that is confusing.
You wrote something about downgrading (but not how this could happen!) then updating manually via cli and setting ssu re ?
Sounds like borked.
If you did not spend too much time in configuration I would propose to reset again and use sfos-upgrade for upgrading then.
Hi! The short story: I first installed SFOS on my nokia N9 phone and fell in love with it. Later I bought a Sony Xperia X, because I read that it is suitable for running this OS. First release on phone was 3.0.0.8. About six months later, I tried to update it, but started (the system is) "Up to date" thing. I figured I'd update it with a command-line solution. That was successfully to v3.1.0.11. Since then, it's been impossible to update again, and the accidental reset brought back the old (3.0.0.8) system. I'm here now, and no way to update.
(I'm gonna go walk the dogs and :D) then I'm gonna reset the phone again. I'll see what happens. Many thanks!
