Landscape mode is needed for some programs (=browser, gallery), but current implementation of global gestures breaks the UX. Now some programs shut down from long edge push(browser, gallery, ...) and some shut down from original top edge (android, portrait-only-apps, ...).

As user, I want settings option where I can lock the orientation of global gestures to portrait only (as in 1.0.2.5) regardless of the display orientation or app orientation.

Let Settings have a new item under System->Look and feel ->

  • Gestures
    • Push * [rotate | portrait | landscape]

additional to Sensitivity from here and other related things

Add return to defaults to its pulley-menu please.

The same request has been already made. See https://together.jolla.com/question/21886/bug-introduced-orientation-bugs-by-1038/.

Kind of, maybe. That is not as clear and not marked as feature-request.

It says at the end of the question: "Please make gesture-rotation an optional feature (settings)!". Will give it a tag feature request. Please make your comments or suggestions there.

Well, I still suggest one thing and shut-up after that. Separate bug-list-wiki and feature request.

Please feel free to reopen the question if you think it is not a duplicate.
