This post is a wiki. Anyone with karma >75 is welcome to improve it.
Together portal feature, extended tag panel, is a nice way to build your views and filter the amount of questions by your own interest.
- Featured tags: Click a tag to see question under it. Featured tags are selected by moderators
- Tag search: Filter questions by the tags they have. Adding several tags to the search box works as an "AND" operator
- Interesting tags: Your personal list of tags. Doesn't affect filtering unless you select "only interesting tags" from below
- Ignored tags: Your personal list of tags. Doesn't affect filtering unless you select "exclude ignored tags" from below
- Subscribed tags: Your second "list of interest". Doesn't affect filtering unless you select "only subscribed tags" from below
Additionally you can filter your email alerts with one of your personal list. Below the selection there's a quick link to your email subscription settings.
Tags listed at the bottom of the panel are just all tags visible in your current search result page. Clicking one of those adds that tag as a filter to your current search. All the tag filters currently in use are listed below the number of the questions. You can remove these filters one by one from there, or add a new one from your right panel.
ps. no need to vote for quidelines, but feel free to edit them. You can find all the guidelines in the front page: Featured Tags ->
