system-wide privacy http-filter / firewall
Currently I use Firefox for Android as main browser on Jolla, because of Sync, but more importantly, because of the privacy-options and add-on. I've Ghostery installed which blocks most of the trackers. That's an important step for privacy, and speeds up page rendering and lowers data usage as bonus. However, it would be nice to have a side-wide filter and/or firewall for this purpose, so it'll work in any browser and can block trackers hidden in apps as well.
Technically, I reckon it could be something like Privoxy, Netfilter/IPTables or hosts-based filtering. Any pointers or suggestions?
Apparently Ghostry is a tracker itself, dependant on the settings. Not really trustworthy... UBlock origin might be an alernative for firefox.

I like your idea though!
