Apart form getting constant reminders to update to the latest version 1.0.3.8, which I did on day of release, and have done a few times since to get rid of the pesky message, I now have a couple of apps which are constantly giving update notifications from the Jolla Store. Currently it shows updates available for Tweetian and Friends. An update ALL or update individually just results in a Store Error, Application already up to date.

The trouble is the notification remains and cannot cleared.

I'd rather not do a full system refresh but fear it may be the only way.

Any ideas?

EDIT 18.2. There are two different problems causing this issue with app updates notifications. One of them seems to be a problem (bug) in Jolla store. Please see answer below.

I have exactly the same problem, perhaps this is due to an old version from warehouse. I think it was the case for me but uninstall the application don't solve the problem...

Same for me with "The Advanced Online Translator". I have installed v. 0.3.2 and the Store reports an update to 0.3.2-1. However: The update is not possible due to same store error as above. I did not install anything from Warehouse in order to avoid conflicts with the Jolla Store. Maybe the Store cannot handle minor changes in the version number?

I had the same problems with the update to 1.0.3.8 and with the friends app. For the systemupdate notification i do the following thing: If the notification for 1.0.3.8 appears, i do not tap on the notification and do not open the jolla store for about 30 minutes. then i open the store, let it fully load and go to my apps. in this moment the store recognizes that the update is already done and the notificvation is cleared. do not open the store via the notification of the update. The second thing: friends app. I had installed the app via warehouse and tried to update it via jolla store. i think that caused the error for me. so i uninstalled the app. and installed it new via warehouse again. since then the jolla store does not list the app in "my apps" and it does not showing update notifications for this. I do not post this as an answer, because this seems not to be a proper way to deal with the problem and i can only say, that it worked for me

this due to conflicting version info between store and warehous. Always use one or the other. If an app is available in both.. use store to prevent receiving update notifications

I suspected that may be the issue. But how to resolve it. I have trieed uninstall but still occurs.

@teun I thought before that this was the problem but now I think this is not the case. I have an app that I have only downloaded from Jolla store and the same problem occurs: The advanced online translator. This is what happens: my version is v0.3.2, Jolla store has v0.3.2-1 and shows that an update is available but when I try to update I get a notification "Problem with store", the Update available is still there. I think this is a bug in Jolla store.

Good hint ;) I have disabled the Warehouse repositories now and afterwards re-installed "The Advanced Online Translator" from the Store... let's see how it goes ;)

Didn't you say you didn't install anything from the Warehouse? You enabled repositories but didn't install anything?

Neo ( 2014-02-17 19:24:49 +0300 )edit

;) Maybe confusing. Yes, I didn't install any application from Warehouse... Only the Warehouse application itself I have installed. But since I don't know in detail what Warehouse is doing, collecting, blocking or whatever I have disabled the repository from basil as well.. I know that it most likely didn't make sense.... but I just wanted to try it... anyway it didn't help. Deinstalled Warehouse now....

You have to disable application repository at warehouse first (uninstallation is not enough )

There are two problems that can cause app update notifications over and over again (I encountered both):

  1. Problem (bug) with Jolla store: e.g. this problem is currently happening with the app "The Advanced Online Translator". It has to do with versioning in Jolla store. For more info please see comments to the other answers. This problem has nothing to do with Openrepos and their Warehouse app.

  2. Problem if you downloaded an app first in Openrepos and that app showed up afterwards in Jolla store. If a new update shows up in Openrepos and is not yet in Jolla store, you will get a update notification although there is no update in Jolla store. This happens because the application repository in Openrepos is enabled. To solve the problem you should deinstall the app and disable application repository in Openrepos and download the app from Jolla store.

Solution to #1 and #2 is to fix version compare bug at Jolla store application.
