[bug] PIN asked randomly while the phone is running
Sometimes, the PIN for the SIM card is asked while the phone is running. In some/most cases, phone lock is not even activated. It is not due to random reboots of the phone as when typing the PIN the previously opened applications are still open. In some cases, opened applications are closed. Additionally, in some cases, the display is constantly showing the PIN query with dimmed light, causing the battery to be drained. This happens more and more often (currently at least once a day).
Latest SailfishOS version 1.1.6.27 installed.
Edit:
As described above - this issue is happening 'randomly' and unintended while the Jolla is in the pocket. This bug is (or seems to be) caused by the loose SIM-Contact-Issue of first hardware revisions which is triggered easily by squeezing and twisting your Jolla (like it's happening in your pocket). The real issue is not the SIM-Card contact loss (because this is a hardware issue) but that you will see the SIM-Pin query after pulling your Jolla out of your pocket and you are unable to type in your SIM-Pin because of missing touch input. So I found a way to reproduce this issue now. :)
How to reproduce:
- Lock your Jolla with the power button/swipe-down-gesture. You also shouldn't have the Device Lock activated
- Remove your TOH
- Cover the proximity sensor or put your Jolla screen-side on your table
- Now pull out your SIM card partly and directly put it in the the right position again to simulate the mentioned hardware bug
- Wait (while still covering the proximity sensor) about 5 seconds
- Now uncover the proximity sensor --> You will get the SIM-Pin query, the display is dimmed and touch input is not accepted. You will get this buggy Pin query (with missing touch input in this semi-locked state) every time after covering and uncovering the proximity sensor like it's happening after pulling your Jolla out of the pocket.
- You have to double-tap to unlock the screen out of this semi-locked state to be able to insert your SIM-Pin
Expected behaviour:
After pulling out your Jolla out of your pocket or uncovering the proximity sensor your display should not turn on by itself and stay in this semi-locked state while showing the SIM-PIN query but the display should stay black or show the glance screen in case you have activated it.
Could it be the connection to the SIM card was lost like in https://together.jolla.com/question/1358/sim-card-connection-to-phone-lost-easily/
Cmdr_Zod ( 2014-02-24 19:19:56 +0200 )editI guessed that this was due to something like that, but the behavior is a bit different: the pin is asked, I have no message saying that the sim card has been removed. Thus maybe there is another reason (or maybe it is really linked).
Vivien ( 2014-02-24 19:47:18 +0200 )editI think I have the same problem. Phone was on the table and suddently it made a beep, display turned on and phone was asking for pin code. Does not say anything about missing sim card and seems that the phone has not rebooted.
VELKKi ( 2014-04-05 14:06:07 +0200 )editI have noticed that this often happens when my jolla is in my pocket and im sitting in a car. I guess the phone loses 3G/2G signal in the car and later when it recieves cellular signal again, it asks for the pin-code.
Jones14 ( 2014-12-30 20:18:32 +0200 )editI have the same problem. Sometimes the pin query dialog appears and I must enter my pin. After this, the phone shows me the old screen.
