Cannot sign in to Google account

I cannot sign in to my Google [Apps] account any longer. I recently disabled the Google account, rebooted my Jolla and re-enabled (signed in again) the Google account in order to restore the contacts sync feature. Shortly after that, the "Account needs to be updated" notifications came back and even email sync stoped working (showing "Problem with sign-in" in mail app).

When I try to sign in to my Google account again, I can log in, enter the two-step-verification code, chosse the Google account to use and choose to accept permissions for Jolla. After this last step, the UI just stays at "Updating account" and nothing happens.

I tried to manually revoke the Jolla permissions from my Google account via Gooles web interface and those permission do not re-appear when trying to sign-in on my Jolla device. So, there seems to be some issue with setting up Google account permissions... :-/

Please fix this or help me debug it further as Google sync currently is a critical feature for me. As I am not able to even sign-in with my Google account, I created a new question for this issue.

Hi Nirkus. As a simple (but obviously suboptimal) fix, you could try removing the account from your device altogether, and re-adding it. Aside from that, if you have developer mode installed and you're willing to help me debug this problem, could you do the following and email me the logs / console output to chris dot adams at jolla dot com -- please note that you will wish to redact some pieces of data (like the AccessToken) before sending me the logs, as they will appear in plain text.

devel-su -c vi /etc/signond.conf # and uncomment the LoggingLevel=2 line.
killall signond
systemctl --user stop jolla-signon-ui.service # then wait 2 seconds
SSOUI_LOGGING_LEVEL=3 devel-su -p jolla-signon-ui
# then in a different ssh console:
SSOUI_LOGGING_LEVEL=3 devel-su -p jolla-settings

Then do the account sign in / update procedure. It seems from the UI flow which you describe that credentials update does actually succeed, but somehow the account save process never completes - but hopefully the logs can give more info why this is occurring.

I think I am in the same situation as Chris but thought it was related to latest update while it might not have been. Here are my comments on that subject.

Do you still need the logs? I could have some time this evening to do this.

EDIT: @VDVsx gave a solution that fixed this for me on another thread: remove webview cache.
