Ability to use camera without unlocking phone
I have enabled "Device Lock", it would be nice to be able to use camera without having to enter my security code (ie. lock / unlock code) by using a customizable Pulley menu shortcut of the Lock screen.

You guys are over-thinking things here, there is really no security issue in having the camera available when locked, for sure the gallery needs to stay locked to keep this statement true. Where should be a security issue with your phone taking pictures without you knowing? Maybe there will be some disgusting pictures on your phone afterwards but that is not a security issue after all.
So this is my suggestion: enable camera always (no need for a choice here, put it in the pulley or don't put it in the pulley is just enough when you think about it), in device-lock-mode have the camera not access gallery.

AL13N ( 2013-12-27 02:02:20 +0200 )edit@AL13N: agree, that's why I down-voted this.. I the phone is locked, it's locked for a reason, and even now you have read-only access to sone info whie the phone is locked with a code. Taking photos with locked phone is a definite no-no :P
foss4ever ( 2013-12-27 02:24:44 +0200 )editBlackBerry 10 devices have this feature - you can take pictures even if the device is locked, but you can't access the gallery. Like this, it is possible to quickly take a picture of something you would otherwise miss due to entering the lock code.
The only possible issue is somebody depleting your storage by taking a bazillion pictures/videos, but that can be easily fixed by limiting the number of pictures/video length that can be taken if device is locked.
MartinK ( 2013-12-27 04:17:37 +0200 )edit@MartinK very bad idea: i take your phone, i rape a child and take a picture of that, and put the phone back, then i call the police and report you...
