There is plenty of space in one cover to split it half vertically. Simply four cover actions would be triggered by: 1) Swipe left in upper half 2) Swipe right in upper half 3) Swipe left in lower half 4) Swipe right in lower half

What do you think? Is there a room for this kind of improvement? Got this idea from this: https://together.jolla.com/question/386/cover-action-on-settings-app/ Just to take it a bit further and have control for all four switches. Also would benefit lots of other apps like media player e.g. pause/play, stop, next, previous.

Have you ever tried to have more than 4 apps running? The gestures must stay easily doable.

To my mind, swiping in upper and lower half could be hard to do precisely, especially if there are more than 4 apps running. What do you think about swiping in each direction instead of two left and two right? So, we can have the follwoing 4 cover actions: 1) Swipe left 2) Swipe right 3) Swipe up 4) Swipe down

For me it doesn't feel too difficult to swipe separete halves of the cover, even when there are more than four apps and the covers are smaller. Though I have pretty small fingers and I see it might be more difficult with bigger fingers. Up and down direction I didn't think as an option, just because it might be too difficult to separate if from normal panning of the homescreen.

Duplicate of https://together.jolla.com/question/1320/offer-up-to-4-cover-actions/@szobi: up/down actions would conflict with up/down pull to lock/application view

Sorry I seemed to miss the original in the search results. You can close this one and go to vote the original one, that's what I did ;)
