Illuminating the camera flash led directly from the Lock Screen pulley menu has been possible since Saapunki (1.0.7.16). You still need to install a flash light app though.
Some Nokia phones was able to turn on light just by long pressing lock button. It's a greate feature, was working even when phone was locked, and could be used without looking at phone. Is it possible to use one of the volume buttons for turning LED on and off?

Or from the Volume buttons when the device is sleeping (not shut down). Or, why not, when it is completely off? Just random ideas... to make it useful searching in the deep dark ocean :-)

NikosAlexandris ( 2013-12-27 15:44:42 +0200 )editSeconded - this could be added as it was in the N9: use the video recorder and switch on the light. No need for more applications.
gabriel ( 2013-12-29 15:24:07 +0200 )editThe idea is to have a real integration in the pulley menu for exemple, to avoidto wait the time to run the application... I think this is a miss for android and can be a + for sailfish
condo4 ( 2013-12-31 17:51:25 +0200 )editAn alternative would be to provide an API (and/or centralized user visible Setting) for controlling which apps/functions to activate from main screen pulley menu or from the long/short/triple volume button presses. Then users can decide whether they want more a flashlight or music player next/prev or whatever they like. And devs can provide apps for these "whatever".
