The answer probably is, reset the phone from (yei, i was the first one to answer the tricky question over here!)
1) Reset the phone
Järjestelmä (System) -> Palauta laite alkutilaan (Reset the phone? - from the bottom of the menu)
2) Boot, login with Jolla account, and update once and you should have the OS at version with the typo jävri (should it be JÄRVI as in lake in Finnish instead) - the previous version.
If resetting is not what you wish to do and you wish to better the battery life on the latest version of SailfishOS (Ohijärvi?), this is what I will do.
I will test the battery life with the latest (Ohijärvi is it? - the one that was released on March) version with disabling Google accounts and using only Outlook account with manual sync. The reason why I disabled Google accounts is that there was no way of choosing manual synchronization of mail, contacts etc.
A smart phone without an automatic sync is a drag, but what can you do? I prefer 3-5 days of battery life to a mere half a day to a days worth. Even iPhone let alone an eight core 10" Android phablet can do a day, easily.
"I did a reset on my Jolla (and lost backups and pictures + all other media)"
You could have just copied the backups (which include pictures) to your computer...
