When mobile data is connected, the traffic indicator is always on, even when there is no data being transferred. Should have "no traffic", "downloading data", "uploading data" indications.

Edit: After forgetting to take the screenshots, I've since seen the indicator go off and have seen only the uploading arrow on. Closing this as it must have been some sync'ing causing a lot of traffic earlier

I can confirm this, it happened to me yesterday, after an awfully unstable network connections couple of days, including some freezes, forcing me to reboot.

In my interpretation, the double arrow icon is primarily not a traffic indicator but a mobile network indicator, as opposed to WiFi or airplane mode icons. I think it is designed to be that way.

However, when transferring data (e.g. fetching emails) is is getting brighter (more opacity, respectively) to indicate traffic. Doesn't that work for you?

I haven't noticed this, the indicator is always opaque, I'll take some screenshots and upload later to compare.

Surely the "no traffic" should still be a sign that you are connected to mobile data.
