Since the last update, we have worked on enhancing our releasing process to optimise development and integration of software. It has paid off and brought update 7 to testing earlier than expected. Weighing the pros vs cons, we have decided to directly release update 7, bringing you even more features and fixes. We believe it is the right decision.

We are currently in release candidate creation phase and expect to deliver the update in early June. While we continue to work on finalizing the update, please see below a glimpse of what you can expect with the combined update 6 and 7. We apologize for the delay and any inconvenience this may cause.

I agree with the decision and I believe one month between updates is too short a time and takes resources to prepare releases that could be better used in development.

@Giacomo parts of the process changes bijjal mentioned were to make much more efficient use of time for doing releases, so it's a first step to be able to able to reliably do monthly updates without having much overhead on our side.

What about fixing this bug: https://together.jolla.com/question/7144/jolla-randomly-shuts-down-10516/ ? I can't use Jolla as a stable phone for month now :(

We have now fixed the following w.r.t reboot issues which will be delivered with the next update:

  • Fixed shutdowns related to invalid overheating reports
  • Fixed a couple of kernel crashes that cause the device to reboot
  • Device stability improved by making it less sensitive to sudden power consumption peaks

I'm looking forward to retire my folded piece of paper, hopefully. :)

hope this update number 7 would really true to solve the 3 majors bugs above. If really true. This update should be real name version SailfishOS 1.0 and all previous are just beta and release candidate.

It's already 9th June, so this update is already late for being an early June update.

Ignore the upper post, take your time to perfect the update. We are glad you'll combine 2 updates in one!
