Any hints/tips what to do to get the sounds out of the Android Spotify app on free account or is that actually the problem?

e.g. the native SF app cuteSpotify will need the premium account to work correctly.

I use the Android Spotify client with Premium account and it works as it should. Have you opened another native app that could take away the audio fokus from the android runtime? bekause android sound only works when no other native app is using sound.

I had the same problem. Then I got a tip to install a equalizer for android, Sound Volume EQ i think it was, and adjust the main volume(move the bar up and down) when the sound died. It worked, but it's a drag adjusting the volume every time the sound disappears. I haven't had the problem in last months so I thought it was fixed, but apparently not.

Well I can witness that the Premium account doesn't make CuteSpotify work any better ;) It has a lot of quirks too. For me it takes about a minute or two to scan the playlists and before that you cannot use the app so you just have to wait patiently. It chops of a lot in the end of the songs too and crashes pretty frequently etc.

@scharelc@Polyfant@Wizah,

thanks for the tips above... based on those I did some deeper study and the reason was the SF browser who was not able to release the audio to android app.

I was testing the web radio with SF browser over bluetooth speakers and once you have activated the web audio e.g. radio station the open web browser will keep the audio reserved even the net radio is paused.

I didn't test is enough to just close the tab which is used for playing audio, but closing the SF browser does activate the sounds of the android Spotify app.

Is this bad behavior of the SF browser in your opinion?

should it be possible for jolla phone and SF os to handle multiple audio channels at the same time?

ok, good to hear it's working now.

I am currently writing an app that is able to play audio. The usual behavior that when one app starts audio, the audio of another app gets paused. This "feature" is delivered by the Qt/QML framework jolla apps are based on.

In the case of the browser and the android runtime I don't think this behavior is always desirable.
