In almost every call, at some point the sound quality decreases rapidly. I noticed that after the decrease in sound quality, the phone have changed from 3.5G to 2G. Have anyone else noticed such a behavior?

EDIT: This only happens for specific persons.

I experienced exactly the same behaviour a lot of times with different called contacts. Each time sound quality dropped massively after a few minutes and the phone showed "2G" on the display, although 3G coverage was quite good at that location. When I disconnected the call and redialed sound quality was fine again and the phone was back in 3G.

Yes, I noticed that about 3 times too, but just when I talk to one particular contact.

After about 45 secs or 1 minute the audio quality drops, but I can still understand my conversation partner very well. I never checked if the phone switched from 3G to 2G. I thought to myself it must have been some kind of audio-codec-re-negotiation between phone and carrier or some other GSM-stuff.

I have the problem the other way: I had some phone calls where people on the other side couldn't hear me, all of a sudden no voice.

I noticed that my Jolla was in 3G coverahe with 1 bar, while on 2g the coverage is wsy better.

So in my case I believe the jolla tried to stay kn 3G too long before switching to 2g.

For instance, on many nokia phones I and some friends/ relatives use with this mobile operator, very often the call switches to 2g until it ends and then the nokia goes to 3G to get better data speed

Edit: it just happened again at 2 minites into the cal, after about 20 seconds of the other person not hearing me the call dropped, I immediately tried to recall but I got the network busy message -- I don't know if I wad on 3g or 2g. Called again after few seconds, the call wad on 2g and sound quality was perfect
