I just did the 1.0.7.16 update and now there's the current date on the lockscreen, covering the operator name. why did the date not stay in the pulldown on the lockscreen? can I have an option to turn this back off?

Don't think there is an alternative to turn it off. But I think it's better placed as it is now actually. A little bit odd to have that information in the pulley menu imo.

I believe it was because quite a few people requested the date in plain view, and Jolla decided on this solution so it won't take up extra space.

@Xiph I don't think so. A perfect place to hide an information I only need once a day.

Ok, I prefer having time and date just a double click away. But that's just me

I don't understand the problem. Do you forget your operator's name so often that you have to have to see it every time you open your phone.

According to release notes, the date is now displayed for 1,5 seconds after opening the lockscreen, after which it reverts to showing the operator.
