Why the operator name is covering the current date information?

The new SF os release 1.0.7.16 introduced date information to the lock screen. However the important date information for the user is hidden with operator name with delay of 1.5s.

This new feature should be reverted i.e. the operator name should be shown 1.5s and then hidden with current date until user removes the lock screen.

Unfortunately this new date feature and the suggest correction to it doesn't support the viewing of the current date via peek gesture on active app, which would be even more useful feature to show current date as already requested and voted many times in here

I would also prefer it the other way around. Show date and change it after some time for the operator for a short while and then change back to date.

I do not agree. When I want to pick up date information, I don't want to have to wait for 1.5 seconds. The display turns anyway off after a few seconds in lock screen. So, I do not see any advantage in reverting this feature.

I'd like both of them displayed. The network name doesn't take much space, really.

I agree. I'd rather display date on top of time and keep operator's name.

I hate the alternating date and operator! I can't believe this is actually a new feature... I hope I can find a way to get rid of it.
