Background: My phonebook consists of almost 100% Koreans. I use Google contacts as primary source of contact synchronization, where they are filed in Korean characters (ex. "홍길동"). I also connected Facebook account too, where they use both Korean and Alphabets for representing their names (ex. both "홍길동" and "Gildong Hong" points to same person).

When I try to link both identities (filed under "홍길동" under Google, "Gildong Hong" under Facebook) in People app, some people are displayed as "홍길동", while some others are displayed as "Gildong Hong". This can occur in other environments where non-Latin alphabet is used daily. How to change display name preferences when linking person with different display names?

Unfortunately, there is currently no way to choose which name will be the selected name. What should happen is that the contact whose card you are looking at, and from which you selected the link contact(s), should be the one whose name remains. It doesn't currently work correctly, however - it is described in this bug report: https://together.jolla.com/question/3655/why-cant-i-decide-which-account-is-the-main-one-when-linking-contacts/
