besides of choosing a acoustic tone for any alarmtype there should be a option to choose a light-alarm. Very handy in mute mode.

I would second that and then even extend that to a generic alarm led interface. I would like to be able to connect different applications' notifications to different styles of led blinking. One could choose between light colors and blink patterns. For example, blue blinking for messages, green blinking for phone calls, yellow blinking for missed appointments, whatever.
