Help people find the excellent cursor movement mode
When trying to place the cursor at a particular location, or selecting text, there is a great zoom-in feature that easily lets you position the cursor exactly where you like. Unfortunately, it doesn't activate until you have first placed the cursor in the text, then tap on the placed cursor and start sliding it sideways.
It would be much more discoverable and useful if it always activated immediately on the first tap, rather than wait for a tap and then a separate slide action.
So when you just tap to place the cursor, the text will make a slight zoom-in "bump", hinting that you can get more. If you hold and slide in one motion (without lifting your finger), the text zooms in fully; meanwhile you can immediately slide to the exact position you want.
And it should work on any input. Browser and many other fields are not supported up to now.

bennypr0fane ( 2015-01-11 04:21:50 +0200 )editsailish UI is great under simulator with mouse, the idea is good but in real world, set possition of cursor and move, mark selection, its almost unreal on multiline text - cursor falling to other lines, crazy zooming, its all messed
from all devices the best and SAFEST cursor manipulatin is in iOS, they used brain for once and they realized that finger is not transparent so there is magnifing glass, so you can see where cursor exactly is, tap and select, tap and move cursor is absolutely safe in iOS
