The current list of available UI languages is limited. It would be great if Jolla would provide the opportunity to participate in translating the UI into more languages. e.g. by setting up a project over at Transifex.

I would love to help with the Dutch translation and I know several other Dutch who are willing to help.

Indeed, wouldn't mind helping with some translations into Dutch.

I usually prefer to have (computer) user interfaces in English, but I do type messages and stuff in Dutch. I wonder what is needed for the word prediction to work in Dutch.. atm I'm polluting the English dictionary with Dutch words...

And me, I am prepared to work on Czech localization, as I did it on Transifex service for MeeGo project some years ago (almost 100 % state). My Transifex nickname: fri

Yes! another fri-nickname here (:P) my transifex nickname is fri666 and I translated to catalan many harmattan apps. I definitely want a catalan-friendly sailfish and gladly I would contribute.

First I had some problems to find you in the list of Czech translators, then realized, that I could manually fill your nick in address pool and vivat, I saw your profile. I volunteer to be the coordinator of Czech translation. See the list of my experiences (partial overview of course) in my profile on Transifex. :-)

The problem here is that Jolla doesn't include in the store or -better- in the OS itself things that the community could have already have ready. Ie. official keyboard layouts for many languages are missing and translations of the OS are also missing. The community would have been able to handle these easily instead of having to wait for Jolla themselves to do the job. And it would have resulted in a far more usable phone for people that need additional languages and layouts.

And before someone suggests openrepos/dev mode/etc i don't see that as an appropriate solution. After all you wouldn't expect from your mother or grandmother to have to set these things up. ;)

Hope this changes in the not so distant future.

Several languages are already available via openrepos/warehouse. The languages files are translated by several localization teams: https://www.transifex.com/organizations/dashboard/unofficial-jolla-translations

These are, however, unofficial files.

Yes. Even better, community-translated languages at 100% will soon be added to the official releases.

To be honest, no. Until Dutch is part of the official release (hopefully the coming release), the question is still open.
