When following directions on maps, it is very annoying to constantly have to wake up the screen, specially when you're driving (it's even dangerous when you sometimes need to enter the unlock code)!

It would be even better to have an option which wake up the screen automatically when one is getting near the next “waypoint” (for lack of a better word). However, I see both use cases as very relevant. Sometimes one would want to observe the map more or less constantly (from the passenger seat of course - safety first!).

are you talking about Jolla maps app? Cause i use yandex maps for turn-by-turn nav, and it keeps screen on

I've bumped the request so it's easier to find again.

@Neo you are correct, although my initial check/search for duplicates did not find it.

@nthn you should not just mark other people's questions as answered or duplicate, because that is overzealous and rude, you should have asked me and waited for me to do it!

Plus you could be mistaken, as indeed you were in accepting this answer, which is not even an answer, and should be reduced to a comment.

I only mean to get people voting on the right request asap so no votes are wasted, maybe that is a bit overzealous.

I believe posting this as an 'answer' is better than as a comment, because answers are a lot more visible.

@nthn you can do that to your own questions, but it is rude to do it to others' (I'll be the judge of how this question is or not a duplicate of another), specially when you do stuff that's wrong, such as accepting an answer that isn't even an answer to the question, as you yourself just admitted!

It's not even like you're a moderator, so just take it easy, and be respectful.

@dsilveira As pointed out in this guideline: https://together.jolla.com/question/50042/together-howto-closing-questions/#post-id-50043, adding a link of the older question to the newer question can be done either by editing the question, comment or answer. As for myself at the beginning I used commenting but after a comment by the administrator of Together @eric regarding this I started to do it by answering. By the way, the administrator also uses answers for adding a link to the question that was asked first.
